So far it been a good day. Watch the Olympics Opening Ceremony last night. Glad to see that the US, Iraq, and Afghanistan got one of the loudest cheers. Also while watching I was listening to the music and noticed that some of tracks were from Tiesto. So today went online to checkout press releases from http://www.athens2004.com, and I was right Tiesto was spinning. Its always nice to hear your favorite artist perform especially at an international event like this. Especially when family and friends say, “Oh you listen to that rave stuff”.

Other good news is that Linette passed all her classes, which brings her 1 semester closer to being a vet. You have no idea how proud I am of her.

Today was my 28th birthday. My friend Jesse and his girlfriend took me to a live taping of some stand up comedians for Comedy Central. The first lady was eh… ok. Too political. The second person, Godfrey was hilarious. Couldn’t stop laughing. This guy was too funny.

Afterwards we went to the Bubba Gump Seafood Restaurant, food was pretty good. got this stuffed shrimp that was really filling.

Anyways, Kathy and Jesse got the waiters and waitresses to sing happy birthday to me which was a bit surprising.

What else … chatted with my cousin Glenn whom I hadn’t talked to in a while, who’s sending me a new keyboard /mouse combo. (gotta hit him back for his b-day). Also just heard from my cousin down in LA whom I did not hear from in the last few months.

Anyway, I’m really stuffed from Bubba Gump’s. I just want to say thanks to everyone who remembered my birthday today. I really do appreciate it.

Just downloaded this program called PocketBlog. Basically it allows me to write blogs on my pockctpc on or offline, so I’m giving it a try. If you have a pocketpc and want to give it a try go here

In other news got a B+ in Accounting bringing my GPA to a 3.28.

Brought in my laptop to Best Buy to get my LCD screen fixed, it has 3 dead pixels on it.

Also was able to get a new battery under the warranty plan. So every is square with the laptop.

Just another 10 days before Linette comes back. I can’t wait.

After 7 months of rehab, my Uncle Ben decided to go for a walk, which was to be his last.  I don’t know all the details, but from what I was told during his walk he fell and hit his head causing massive bleeding and swelling inside his head.

I wish there was more I can do for my Mom, my aunt, and my cousins.

My Uncle came to the U.S. for the first last June.  I’m glad though that he had a chance to come to the U.S. to see what it is like here, and that his almost 20 or so years of petitioning and applying for a visa wasn’t wasted.

My dear Uncle Ben, may you find your way to the gates of heaven and find eternal rest and peace.

Well its been almost a month since my last blog… again. Anyway, not much going on here.

School update: Got an A on my environmental science class, and an A on my Introduction to Business class, which gives me a 4.0 GPA for Summer Session I, giving me a cumulative GPA of a 3.26. So far so good.

Right now I’m in the middle of Accounting I, got a 91 on my first exam and will be taking the exam 2 tomorrow. I can see why people say that accounting is hard, and i can see why its not hard. Let me explain, Accounting is hard if you just sit in the classroom, listen but don’t do any homework. However if you do the homework, its really not hard. On the flipside, you need to understand how money moves around and be able to think in abstract ways, since all we’re doing is intangible. Just my 2 cents.

Thought I’d throw this:

CD’s in current rotation in my ride:

Sasha – Involver

Deep Dish – Toronto #025

Paul Oakenfold – Bunkka

Paul Oakenfold – Perfect Remixes

Paul Oakenfold = Great Wall

Tiesto – Just Be

John Digweed – MMII

Well its been almost a month since posting here. I seem to have big lapses in posting. Oh wells.

Let’s see what’s been going on. Spring semester was actually pretty good, 3 A’s and B giving me a 3.73 GPA for the semester but only giving me a 3.04 cumulative GPA since my Fall 03 semester was a disaster with a 1.89. In any case it seems that I have rebounded pretty well.

After the Spring semester I signed up for this 2 week intersession course that ran for 10 days between the end of the Spring Semester and the beginning of Summer Session I. All I have to say is that my life was that class for those 10 days. Everyday for 10 days I had class from 8am to about 5 or 6pm. Yes that class was rough, especially the first day where it as just 8 1/2 hours of lecture. That was a killer. The other 9 days weren’t as bad, it was either a mix of lecture and field trips or just field trips. The different places we visited was the Ref-Fuel plant, an air traffic control center, reformed land sites, Paterson, NJ, Trigen, and 2 wildlife preserves. After all that I got an A. I would say that the 10 days were worth it, got a 4 credit class out of the way.

In summer session I i’m taking an Introduction to Business course. Class isn’t too bad, its actually not that hard, just a lot of reading. For some reason everything that we’re talking about in class, along with the reading assignments seem to be sticking. I don’t have to study as intensely, like i ever study intensely. Had 2 exams so far and have gotten a 90 and 100. Now don’t go thinking I was studying like a mad man for that 100. I actually didn’t. I only studied, errr, crammed for the test 3 hours before hand. Like i said this stuff just seems to stick with me.

Enough of the recap. Today was just like any other day in class except that we had our reports due as well as do presentations on them. Wasn’t too bad, I was actually quite animate up there. Meaning that while others just stood there looking up and down I was making hand gestures and drawing figures on the board. I guess that’s from working and holding meetings with clients, vendors and managers where visual material helps get your point across.

On another topic, I washed Brownie today. For some reason he was just being a pain while trying to dry him. I really don’t know how these grooming places as well as vet techs get this done easily. Oh wells, that’s not my area of expertise.

Well that’s about it. Hopefully i’ll post some stuff tomorrow.

 http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A35488-2004May18.html?nav=rss_nation

The above is an article about the 9/11 panel discussion that took place on May 18, 2004.  First off, I would like to express my disgust about what was mentioned in this article.  How can some people blame the rescue workers for the amount of people that died on that day?  How can some people blame the city for not taking proper action?  As the article states, FDNY, NYPD and PAPD saved almost 25,000 people from those burning Towers.  They did their best under the worst conditions possible.  They did not wait for authorization or confirmation to go into the Towers, they just went in because it was the right thing to do.  They weren’t concerned if their radios worked or not or if they were going to die, they just went in to save a stranger’s life.

On another note, United States soil has not been attacked since Pearl Harbor, how can someone ever, EVER see this coming???  Yah, ok, this issue is more political than it really seems, and I have my own theories about it.  Anyway, how can local authorities ever plan for this?  Disaster plans are mostly reaction type plans, the most well designed disaster plans are the ones have been planned AFTER a disaster has struck.  Who would ever think that someone(s) would hijack a plane and crash into a tower, let alone 2 of them. There are just too many variables out there to take into consideration.  Even still, one can only plan for 99.9% of what may happen.  Guess what? The missing .1% will hit you hardest and that is something that can never be prevented.

Quite frankly I’m sick and tired of all this bickering back and forth.  I understand that people have lost loved ones, yes, I am part of that group.  Yes, I was there walking the streets of New York the next day and rest of that week, going from hospital to hospital hoping that my cousin was brought in.  What I’m trying to say is that we need to get passed all this bickering and help each other out.  What will all this accomplish anyway?  Are you going to place the blame on one agency or a group of agencies?  You can’t… if you do this will take decades to accomplish, and even if that happens, someone will reopen the case and the whole cycle starts again.

Instead why don’t we honor our loved ones and leave their spirits in peace and not let this bickering continue any further.  I feel that this bickering, blaming and accusations are the biggest dis-service we are doing to them.

We should also try help local and federal authorities on ways how to prevent something like this from ever happening again instead of trying to place the blame on someone or something.

Just my $.02

Well,  this week is finals week, thank God.  To tell you the truth, the semester flew by pretty quickly.  As stated in my previous blog,  I didn’t even know that I had final in CMP105.  In any case I have only 1 real final, which is Precalculus. Fairly easy, but there are a few topics that I need to focus on which were apparent on Exam 3, which I didn’t do so well on.  The classes, CMP103 and CMP110 don’t have finals per say, just regular exams, which I’m not too worried about.

As the Spring semester ends, everyone is getting ready for summer vacation, however I’m not.  I’m taking a intercession course which last 10 days including weekends.  Once that’s done, I have to deal with Summer courses.  Its not as bad as it sounds, just 2 classes in session 1, and 1 class in session 2.  After that I have about, oh maybe a month off, and then the Fall semester begins.  In the Fall I’m only taking 2 classes, and then I’m done.  Before you all get excited, which you’re probably not, this only gets me an A.A.S. in CIS.  I still have another 1 ½ to 2 years to get my BS.  Still in the process in looking for schools, but will focus more on that as September approaches.

Well, back to studying.

To everyone who’s student, good luck on your finals.

Well it been about 2 weeks since Linette left, and I guess I can say that I’ve been mentally in disarray.  I haven’t been able to do any work at all.  Just basically at home sitting like a bump on a log.  Something is missing,  and that missing is her L

Other than missing her terribly, I can say that I saved myself at least $400-$500 by fixing my ABS brakes.  Wasn’t too bad it was just a burnt out wire that I just spliced and taped up.  Real easy.

Well that’s it for now.

Randy graduates from CW Post on Sunday

whew.. ok… missed my first class today, actually didn’t feel like going 😛 so i just stayed home being a bum. Thinking that my next class was at 2:30, i just basically bummed around the house. Then my pocket pc and outlook alarm rang saying that i had class at 2pm. Oh shit! i raced towards school cuz i had test today. Got to class 15 minutes late, the test was on Excel spreadsheets, fairly easy. Well too easy, finished in 10 min. Easiest 100 in a long time. Anyway, took a nice drive home.

There’s a going away dinner being thrown by Linette’s clinic later tonight. Hope its a good restaurant, I love free dinners.
