Pyramids

Another pyramid set of pull-ups earlier this evening. This time shortening the rests to 30 seconds to a minute for sets 1-3 and 2 minutes for sets 4-5-4. With one delay rest I was able to get to set 5 without any assistance. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep this up.

I’ve also added a pyramid of 10 for pushups. Pyramid of 10 gives me a total of 100 pushups. That’s a considerable amount from the 3×15 I did a week ago.

This on top of my Zwift workout this morning:

Something new….

It’s been 1 year, 9 months 12 days since my last post….

The new year has been busy, the holiday season went by in blur. Things at work are starting to ramp up. Starting to get back into my fitness routine with biking, skating on the weekend and with my core workouts during the week.

I’ll try to post more this year. Starting now

I’ve been doing pull ups and push ups for almost 5 days a week since September. Back in September I could barely do one. Today, I just completed my first pyramid set.

My rep is as follows: 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1. Total of 25

Previous to this I was doing 3 sets of 5 with 2 minutes rest in between in each.

I’m glad I was able to get through the pyramid, but needed assistance in sets 4-5-4-3-1.

Currently at:
162lbs
19.2% body fat
26.5 BMI

back in the saddle

Back in the saddle after two days off.  Trying to get back into the rhythm of things.  Was a little concerned about this being too hard, but that was hardly the case.  I was able to hit all my power targets, despite not hitting all the cadence recommendations.

blogtober

I had no idea that this was a thing?  Seems like a fun thing to do.  So for the remainder of this month, I’ll try to post new content everyday.

First blog post….. but not really

I’ve moved my blog from my hosted site on 1and1 to wordpress.  The cost has gone up over the years. I also really don’t feel like maintaining my own site as I have other things I like/ need to do.  I’ve thought about moving to AWS as I have some EC2 instances there for troubleshooting work related issues from outside the office. Seems to be really expensive for just for a personal site, plus, there’s a lot of work just to get it working (see my previous statement above).

The URL is temporary as I look to move to a different registrar.

Friday!!!

After a long and busy week, it was a nice change of pace working from home today.  Saw the kids off to school and got work with my PJ’s on 🙂

Still busy work-wise, but at least I didn’t have to deal with the aggravation of commuting.

A nice change of pace was taking a quick bike ride during my lunch break, but of course the office internet connection goes down which makes the main support person.  Just my luck.

Rounding out the evening with playing Minions Rush on the Nexus Player with the kids. So that was fun.

Today

Today didn’t go as planned so far. Woke up late for a bike ride, so slept in instead.  Wanted to see how the Alpha-GPC worked, guess I will try tomorrow.  Definitely feel more awake, hopefully taking this along with Piracetam will help with my memory and cognitive skills.

Read something disturbing

Finally finishing up Dan Brown’s Inferno, and read the following

” had the HIV virus gone airborne,
it could have been an extinction event.” – http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/?ean=9780385537865

Think about that one for a moment…
