Month: March 2013

All okay

So as far as the PA can tell Roslyn is fine. She does want Roslyn to be checked out by her pediatrician in 2 days though to rule out any kind of possible ear infection.

So after the ER we dropped the kids off at school.

Now at home and will try to get some work done.

So far, it’s been pretty stressful day, which began with a scream

Wednesday… Hump day

Coming off a good weekend. My brother was up here this past week endnotes for 2 races, Grant’s Tomb Criterium on Saturday and his 2nd NYC Spring Race at Central Park on Sunday.

At Grant’s Tomb he finished but did not place, at least he didn’t get dropped.  At the Central Park race be finished 5th which was enough to get points.

I biked to the city both times, which were both good workouts. Going up Fort Lee Rd is a challenge in itself.

On Sunday after getting some coffee and doing a lap went home and got ready to go the Liberty Science Center.  Linette and the kids went to the Center while I biked around Jersey City with Jesse.

Wasn’t really challenging except for a few sprints and hard efforts in Liberty State Park. The ride was mostly a recreational one.  There are these 3 segments that I do want to go back to though.

On to Wednesday…  Roslyn woke up screaming around 5:15am.  She kept pointing to her left ear, so i got a flashlight and looked at it.   All I saw was wax. She repeatedly said her war hurts so we brought her to the ER at Englewood Hospital.

So we’re just waiting

Tired

I need a vacation…

Just finished up doing some work while watching Stage 3 of Paris-Nice. I really hope the weather gets better, I really want to start riding again.

Night would’ve been longer if I didn’t write a powershell script to restart computers. Now I need to look into why I didn’t get any alerts when I restarted the east coast servers. It may be that the SolarWinds servers were in the middle of a restart while SolarWinds was restarted. hmm..

Anyway, off to sleep.

Busy day today

Quite a busy day today. Since I was working from home, woke up a little later and did my morning ride.
Work was pretty busy, fixing problems that just keep coming up. Finally fixed an issue with drive mappings in our Sao Paolo office with some advice from a colleague from our Sheffield office. I may have to rethink how I map drives. Another issue that needs to be ironed out is mapping H drives after a user connects using AnyConnect. Using GPP seems to be the only way, but this would need to be discussed at higher level, and with the current workload this may need to be put on the back burner.

Kids are “asleep” now, so I need to go clean up, read for a bit a go catch some z’s myself.

Certainly not my best ride

Saturday’s ride certainly showed me that I was not at the level of riding that I thought I was at. Need to get more fit, increase top speed, sustain a fast pace and increase endurance. I’ll need to put together a training plan, which includes doing intervals at least 2x a week. Just need to find a level enough grade to do it.

Time to toughen up.

Recon ride

Doing a recon ride with my brother a fay before his race. Turned out to be a hard ride for me as a cramped up real bad not far from home.

Looking forward to the weekend

It’s been a rough week. Especially yesterday.  Working from home today was a much needed change of pace. Actually got some work done today.  I was also able to bring the kids to and from school today.  That was nice.

Looking forward to the weekend, slow down, relax, don’t have to rush out anywhere.

Also my brother is coming up here for a race on Sunday so we’ll be doing some riding together on Saturday.  Definitely looking forward to that.
